Foundation Scholarships

The Connecticut State University System Foundation announces the following scholarships being offered for the Fall 2008 semester.  Please reference the scholarship criteria for specific eligibility requirements. CSU universities include Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven and Western Connecticut State University in Danbury.

Connecticut Art Education Association Scholarship
Award: $1,000 – one award, nonrenewable
University: Central Connecticut State University
         
or Southern Connecticut State University
Criteria:
  
·  Art majors in their sophomore, junior or senior year
   · 
Enrolled in art education at CCSU or SCSU
   ·  Examples of leadership or volunteerism encouraged
   ·  GPA 3.0 minimum
  
·  Resident of Connecticut
  
·  Demonstrated financial need

Deadline for application: December 17, 2007

Pratt and Whitney Science and Technology Scholarship

Award: $1,000 – one award (non-renewable)

University: Eastern Connecticut State University

Criteria: 
   ·  GPA 3.0 minimum
   ·  Excellence in science or technology in high school
   ·  Resident of Connecticut
   ·  Accepted to ECSU full time for Fall 2008
   ·  Demonstrated financial need

T. Clark Hull Public Service Scholarship
Award: $500 – one award (non-renewable)
University: Southern Connecticut State University

Criteria: 
   ·  GPA 3.0 minimum
   ·  Service to their high school and/or community
   ·  Resident of Connecticut
   ·  Accepted to SCSU full time for Fall 2008
   ·  Demonstrated financial need

Deadline for application: April 30, 2008

Ted Martocchio Scholarship (Building and Trades Union)

Award:  Up to $2,000 

University:  Any CSU University

Criteria: 
  ·  GPA 2.75 minimum
  ·  Leadership or examples of volunteer work encouraged
  ·  Resident of Connecticut
  ·  Graduating high school senior
  ·  Student must be the child of a member of the CT Building
     and Trades Union.
  ·  Name of union member and union chapter is required
     on application form.
  ·  Students with diverse interests will have preference
  ·   No specific major is required
  ·   Demonstrated financial need

The Tulisano Humanitarian Award Scholarship

Award: $1,000 – one award

University: Any CSU University
Criteria:
   ·  A resident of Rocky Hill, Connecticut
   ·  Graduating from an accredited public or private high school
   ·  Accepted full time at a CSU university for Fall 2008
   ·  Show a record of academic progress
   ·  Public service, community involvement & extracurricular activities
   ·  Possess demonstrated leadership qualities
   ·  Demonstrated financial need.
